Goal: To start to work out how the news changes with the market stages.
Exercise: In the second half of 2017 Bitcoin, the most popular cryptocurrency, was in an advancing stage of its primary trend, in early 2018 it went through topping consolidation quickly and settled into decline. On a general news website, like the BBC, search for articles containing ‘Bitcoin’ and order by the date published. Look back at the type of news and the market sentiment when it goes through these stages. Try to spot how justifications for the increases in price form, and then further justifications develop as price then falls.
